Bill Plumb has been collecting Star Wars original artworks for the past
twenty-three years. Many of his acquisitions were purchased directly from
the artists themselves. His personal collection is only surpassed by the
SW art within the Lucasfilm archives. Plumb has just informed us that he
is willing to sell some of these gorgeous artworks. All of the art has
been archivally framed. The framing itself brings out the vibrancy of the
characters and richness of the colors. The photographic representations
do not begin to match the actual beauty of the original production
paintings. Many of the artworks have associated preliminary sketches,
which would be included in the purchase transaction. According to Plumb,
this is not a firesale. He is looking for top dollar, or as he says,
"Make an offer I can not possibly refuse." Plumb's long-standing personal
goal is to create a museum which would house his collection. Plumb says
that one of his goals in allowing the artworks to go on sale would be to
raise the capital needed to pursue his museum goal. After a few sales he
would then take the remainder of the artworks off the market. All of the
Plumb artworks depicted on the Archive
are initially
available for purchase. As sales progress Plumb will notify me which ones
are no longer available for purchase. Remember, there is only ONE
original artwork. There are thousands, or more, action figures. Ownership
of an original Star Wars artwork would be the centerpiece of any
Star Wars collection. If you are interested please email Plumb at
disneyp@starstream.net
and pursue negotiations. Good luck!
